Agricultural Project
In order to fundraise towards our mission, we have embarked in agricultural projects including horticulture, animal husbandry and bee keeping.
We have constructed two greenhouses for horticultural purposes. We supply tomatoes, cabbages, lettuce, leafy vegetables and green mealies to the local supermarkets and to the local community. We have cleared an additional 6 hectares at our Gaika plot, in order to expand our horticulture and agricultural activities, thereby farming maize meal and beans that will be distributed to our beneficiaries, as well as other cash crops.
We plan to build a water reservoir and sink more boreholes in order to increase our capacity utilisation and grow our surplus from agriculture.
Future projects
Soap making
– We are developing a soap making project, which will also assist to raise funds for our mission.
Fish farming
– We plan to develop a fish farming project towards raising money for our mission.
Chicken rearing
– We have also engaged in chicken rearing and we plan to resuscitate the project by building chicken runs for that purpose.
Merchandise for sale
To fundraise, we sell branded cups, t-shirts, hats, key holders, diaries, calendars, cloth material and drinking bottles to members.
Annual Fundraising Day
Every year, we hold an annual fundraising day that raises funds towards our mission.
